Gold Success at Royal Hobart Wine Show!

We are happy to advise that we have won a further 2 Gold Medals at the Royal Hobart Wine Show 2011.

'Watervale' Riesling won GOLD in the Class 26 Riesling Any Vintage category.

'The Lodge Hill' Shiraz won GOLD in the Class 47 Shiraz 2010 category.

There has been a lot of discussion about vintage 2011 but I believe that vintage in Clare for Riesling was excellent.


 

"Watervale" Riesling 2012

This Jim Barry Riesling is classic Watervale—lemons, limes and a wonderfully clean, crisp finish. Just like a deliciously fresh party in your mouth. Enjoy!

Sight: 
The wine has a light green straw colour.
Smell: 
The lifted aromas that jump out of the glass are bright and clean - ginger, fresh lemon and lime juice.
Taste: 
There is an underlying complexity that comes from a number of distinctly different yeast strains used to ferment the separate parcels that make the final blend. The palate is full, textural and structured with a spine of natural grape acidity and a zesty, clean finish.
Time: 
A wine created to be enjoyed upon release but also having the character to be cellared into the next decade to increase the complexity already apparent.
