'The Armagh' Shiraz

20/20 for 2006 'The Armagh' Shiraz

We are very proud to announce that our 2006 Armagh Shiraz has received a perfect 20/20 score from the UK’s leading wine critic.

The Armagh Remains 'Outstanding'

We are delighted to announce that The Armagh has retained its position of ‘outstanding’ in the Langton’s Classification of Australian Wine. Langton’s Classification was first released in 1990 and is considered to be one of the most famous wine classifications outside Europe. To be considered one of the top wines in Australia is a true honour and constant motivation for us here at Jim Barry.

'The Armagh" Shiraz 2007

The name of ‘Armagh’ was bestowed by the original Irish settlers who arrived in 1849, and named the lush rolling hill after their homeland.

Sight:
Dense and purple.
Smell:
An elegant and aristocratic kaleidoscope of aromas. An abundance of fruit - blackberry, mulberry and blueberry. Supporting complexity of mint, eucalypt, rhubarb, turkish delight and cinnamon.
Taste:
A rich tapestry of enjoyment and fulfilment. The introduction - raspberry, strawberry and boysenberry. The closing argument - star anise, rosemary, spearment and clove. Line, length and delivery - Encompassing and welcoming. Sumptuous and sensual.
Time:
A wine hand crafted with the Jim Barry philosophy to be enjoyed upon release but demands a long sleep in the cellar to allow the wine to demonstrate all that it beholds.
